JUST IN: Maui county officials now say 106 lives have been lost in the Lahaina brushfire. They also confirmed the identities of two victims 74-year-old Robert Dyckman and 79-year-old Buddy Jantoc, both of Lahaina.

Due to overwhelming demand from non-essential individuals and non-Maui residents, the Maui Police Department on Monday suspended the placard progam for travel into West Maui. Police say the suspension is until further notice.

The number of confirmed fatalities is now 89. An unsafe water advisory is in effect for Upper Kula & Lahaina areas affected by fires. In Lahaina, it doesn’t apply to Kaniau Road and north including Villages of Leialii. Visit //mauicounty.gov/water for maps of affected areas.

The death toll is now at 80. Search and rescue crews continue to look for fire survivors and victims. The Kaanapali brushfire which sparked tonight is 100% contained. The Lahaina fire is 85% contained. Kihei 80% and Kula 50% contained. Pray for Maui.

Families can return to Lahaina via Maalaea today (8/11) at noon. Honoapiilani Hwy will reopen at noon with restrictions. Residents must show ID and visitors, a hotel reservation. Curfew is 10 pm-6 am. Honoapiilani will be closed at that time. No access to Historic Lahaina Town.

Did you feel it? A 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Pahala on the Big Island hit just before 9:30 tonight.

The FAA says Coast Guard crews located a debris field about 16 miles south of Hana, Maui in the area that a Beechcraft King Air 90 lost radar contact and went missing before 9:30 last night. Three were on the medical transport aircraft enroute to pick up a Big Island patient.

Maui police say a 58-year-old Wailuku man has died in a skydiving accident at Hana Airport Monday. MPD says the man was on a solo skydiving jump when he deployed his parachute but hit the ground when he landed. It's unclear if he was knocked out or lost consciousness.
