A very cold start to the week with temperatures in the single digits and feel like temperatures below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Monroe County, Livingston County, Lapeer County, St. Clair County, Wayne County, Macomb County, Washtenaw County, and Oakland County until noon Wednesday. We stay below zero all day with highs warming up to 10 degrees through the afternoon.

Snow, subzero wind chills, and gale warnings in the nearby Great Lakes are what Southeast Michigan is up against today and tomorrow as winter weather returns to the forecast. While the bulk of the winter advisories are on the west side of the state where lake effect snow is arriving today, there is only light moisture in the air to start Wednesday morning. That will change over the course of the day with the first flakes falling around early afternoon.

A cold start to the morning with temperatures in the 20s and feel like temperatures in the upper teens Tuesday. Most of the day will be mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky and highs climbing to the mid 30s. Tonight's lows will fall to the lower to mid 20s. The next quick system will hit Wednesday afternoon. A clipper system will sweep in around the evening drive, bringing steady snow showers and gusty winds through the evening.

For the rest of Thursday evening and overnight, it will be mostly clear and cool with dry condtions and a low of 41. The next area of low pressure brings a good chance for showers on Sunday. Friday - bright and pleasant with a high near 60 degrees. Saturday - sun and clouds, dry with a high near 55. Sunday - cloudy with rain showers and a high of 60. Monday for Veterans Day mostly cloudy with a high near 58. Tuesday - partly sunny and a high near 55.

Happy Monday! Starting off the work week on a quiet and comfortable note. Most spots will start off in the mid-50s with a few in the lower 60s. Expect a few spots to wake up with some patchy fog but most see a mostly sunny start. Another rinse and repeat type of day with highs returning to the lower 80s with mainly sunny skies. This will put us at seven days in a row with temperatures in the lower 80s.
