THIBODAUX, La. (WGNO) — When the beloved two-day live auction happens at the Firemen’s Fair, upwards of 700 items are up for grabs. When you hear the horn blow, it means it’s an “RNI” or “Real Nice Item.”One of the featured items for this year’s auction is a mud boat. “This is one of our featured items this year. It’s a mud boat with a 40 hp engine, with the transmission. It was built by a son in law of our Grand Marshal, Mr. Jude Percle,” said Ron Bourgeois with the Auction Committee.

She’s Rhonda Smith Sheridan, and something else that’s been added to her wardrobe is a beautiful red sash. “As a small child, my grandfather had 40 acres … and he had berries. My mother would always preach to me to wash them, but I just love them straight off the flat or off the row,” said Sheridan.

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — There were no outdoor parades in Jefferson Parish Sunday, Feb. 23 but a parade of fun happened inside the Pontchartrain Center for the final day of Family Gras 2025 festivities. President and CEO of Visit Jefferson Parish, Violet Peters, praised the many people involved with moving the massive production from its outdoor location on Veterans Blvd. to the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
