Development odds are listed at 30% over the next 2 days, but 70% over the next 7 days as of the 1 p.m. Thursday update. The feature of interest is a tropical wave that is moving across Hispaniola and the southwestern Atlantic as of Thursday afternoon.

    BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Today's Forecast: Rains are seeing an earlier start today, which should help to keep highs in the low to mid 80s for most. Scattered rains through the morning will give way to numerous showers and t-storms into the afternoon. The threat for locally heavy rainfall is a touch higher today, with the Weather Prediction Center posting a Level 2/4 (slight) risk of flooding area-wide. A Level 3/4 (moderate) risk covers areas around Lake Charles.
