Kneehill County council approved signing a deal with a company which will handle household hazardous waste. The resolution was passed at the March 11 regular meeting of council. Councillors heard a report from Environmental Services Manager John McKiernan regarding the provincial government’s changes to the way certain products are recycled, including placing more onus on the companies that produce such material; this approach has been called extended producer responsibility (EPR).
