    Up to 12 temporary paramedics could be hired to provide greater staffing flexibility for Red Deer Emergency Services. An agreement was reached last week between the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Local 1190 Red Deer and City of Red Deer administration to recruit the paramedics for terms of up to 12 months. The new temporary positions will support ambulance operations only, without fire suppression duties.
