Strong contributors on both ends of the court, senior Manny Smith and sophomore AJ Taban took home the biggest honors for the Stillwater boys basketball team during its postseason awards banquet. Smith received the team’s Defensive MVP Award and was a co-recipient with Taban of the Offensive MVP Award. Both players joined Henry Zollar in earning All-Suburban East Conference honors while teammates Joe Fredkove and Carter Zollar received honorable mention all-conference recognition.

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — Stillwater is not unblemished, but the Ponies have defeated each team on its schedule this season after turning back Woodbury 4-1 in a Suburban East Conference softball game on Wednesday, April 30 at Stillwater Area High School. The Ponies (10-2 SEC, 11-2), ranked fourth in Class AAAA, have lost to league-leading Forest Lake (10-1, 10-1) and Woodbury (4-5, 4-6) this season, but won the rematch each time during the second round of conference play.
