    NORTH ST. PAUL — Facing one of the toughest stretches on its schedule, the Stillwater boys volleyball team dropped consecutive nonconference matches against Rosemount and North St. Paul on May 15 and 20. The Ponies were swept by the Polars 3-0 on Tuesday, May 20 at North St. Paul High School, losing by scores of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-16. It was the 11th straight victory for North St. Paul (21-2) since falling to highly regarded Eastview (24-3) on May 10.

    HUDSON, Wis. — The Stillwater boys golf team placed third in the Suburban East Conference Tournament, but was unable to gain ground while placing fourth in the final conference standings. The Ponies posted a score of 318 to finish four shots ahead of White Bear Lake (322) in the SEC Tourney on Monday, May 19 at Troy Burne Golf Club, but the Bears held onto third place in the overall standings by two points (47-45) over Stillwater, which captured the league title a year ago.

    ARDEN HILLS — Stillwater lived up to its No. 4 seed before falling to perennial conference and section heavyweight Mounds View 7-0 in the Section 4AA semifinals on Saturday, May 17 at Mounds View High School. After stopping Stillwater, the top-seeded Mustangs also blanked No. 2 seed Mahtomedi 7-0 in the finals to secure the program’s 21st trip to the state tournament in the past 27 seasons.
