Newly-recruited firefighters from Surrey Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) completed their challenge of walking up and down the 34-storey Tower 1 in Woking's Victoria Square in full kit at 18:00 BST on Tuesday. The residential skyscraper complex consists of three towers, with Tower 1 being the highest at 384ft (117m).

The blaze broke out a property in Castle Road in Tarring just after 09:00 BST, according to West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. At the height of the incident five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were at the scene. Everyone inside the property was accounted for and one casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance. Castle Road was closed to traffic but has since reopened.

Dominyka Jonikaite was struck by a grey BMW 3 Series in London Road outside the Crawley Leisure Park just after 20:30 BST on Saturday, according to Sussex Police. Her 12-year-old sister and their cousin, a 19-year-old woman, were "seriously injured" and taken to hospital.
