She and her team create remarkable custom interiors with a thoughtfully curated mix of unique furniture and home decor for clients in Charlotte and well beyond, but Lisa also hosts curated pop-up shops, travels extensively, and pens a newsletter and blog. Her latest edition of her newsletter, LIVING, started to percolate when she and her partner Jonathan moved into a new home.

    Hot dog lovers will relish this news - a novel spin on a classic summer bite is set to open May 31 at noon in Charlotte. A New Dawg in Town is the brainchild of Marlaina Blackett, who plans to run the business with her brother, Desmond Blackett. "I chose hot dogs because, one, I'm from NYC; two, it's a people pleaser; and three, I love to cook and love West Indies food," Blackett said. Blackett's family is from Barbados, and this will mark her first food venture.

    When the signage first went up a few months ago at Seaboy in Cornelius, I was immediately hopeful. The older, white, cottage-style house that the colorful sign was perched in front of felt like a sure sign of something unique to come. In a city where so many restaurants are in big, shiny, brand-new spaces, I always enjoy seeing the scales get balanced in favor of a place with history or where you might graze someone's elbow seated nearby.
