But for some people — diabetics especially — taking care of their feet is especially important. According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetic nerve damage can lessen the ability to feel sensations like pain, heat and cold. This can prevent people with diabetes from realizing they have foot injuries like cuts or blisters until they get infected.

TUPELO – A record 67 students from 11 schools served as interns in various businesses and organizations related to their career paths this spring through the Frank K. Spain Internship Program, and this week they shared their experiences at a ceremony recognizing their participation. The students were paid interns who worked 100 hours through the internship program, which was created through a foundation set up in the entrepreneur’s name.

After all, it was his home away from home for more than 25 years, a station where he developed deep and lasting friendships on and off the air. The longtime journalist surprised viewers when he announced his retirement April 1, capping a remarkable career. "It's been a good ride," he said.
