MONROE – The township recently broke ground on the refurbishment of James Monroe Memorial Park, 140 Dey Grove Road. Mayor Stephen Dalina said the park serves as home to the Monroe Township Baseball Association and provides popular walking trails. “As part of the Monroe Township Master Plan to improve and expand our parks over the next 10 years, we are renovating one of our oldest and most utilized facilities in the southern area of town,” Dalina stated.

Approximately ten other cats may have been exposed, and animal control is investigating. This is the second rabid animal reported in Middlesex County and the first in East Brunswick this year. EAST BRUNSWICK – A stray cat that attacked a township resident tested positive for rabies, said the Middlesex County Office of Health Services. The resident was attacked Friday by the cat that was living on their property in the vicinity of Riva Avenue and Ved Mandir Drive.
