    The season opener of the 2025 Music on the Lake concert series in St. Clair Shores has been cancelled for June 4. Thunderstorms and high winds are predecited for this evening which caused tonight’s Bluewater Kings concert at Veteran’s Memorial Park to be cancelled. An announcement from the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation department said the cancellation was implemented for the safety of performers, staff and attendees.

    A 22-year-old Warren man was was arraigned on second degree murder charges Tuesday in connection with a May 31 incident. Travis James Holdburg was charged in 37th District Court with one count of second degree homicide. Judge John Chmura set a cash/surety bond at $1 million. If released, Holdburg is to wear a steel cuff GPS tether, have no contact with any witnesses, and not go within a quarter mile of where the incident occurred. Holdburg pleaded not guilty.

    Outdoor enthusiasts can kick off the summer season June 7-8 by taking advantage of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Three Free Weekend. For two full days, Michigan residents and out-of-state visitors can enjoy fishing, riding off-road trails, visiting state parks including boating access sites all free of charge. “If you need another reason to get outdoors and explore some of Michigan’s best recreation opportunities, ‘Three Free’ Weekend is it,” said DNR Director Scott Bowen.

    Investigation has been turned over to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office
