Dayton in May approved a $2 million grant specifically for a new ramp infrastructure that will “improve the Airport runway system and enhance SNC’s ability to operate their hangars more safely,” according to city documents. The total project cost for the new ramp infrastructure will be $6.5 million. Dayton City Manager Shelley Dickstein said this ramp project is crucial for SNC to bring large planes in and out of their hangars.

Dayton’s city commission this week held its first meeting since the spring session of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly ended. The NATO event saw hundreds of delegates, as well as their staff and families, stay in the Dayton region. NATO does not reimburse host cities for expenses related to the event. But Dayton didn’t foot the entire bill. Dickstein said some work to put together the event began nearly 10 months ago.

Section 14(c), which is a part of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, permits employers to pay subminimum wages to workers whose disabilities impact their productivity for the specific work performed, but only if the employers hold a special certificate under the U.S. Department of Labor’s hours and wages division.
