    ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - Today will be breezy and cool under clear skies with afternoon temperatures in the 30s. Northwest wind will be gusty to around 25 mph. High pressure will travel to the south of us and help usher in warmer air by the end of the weekend. Weekend highs will be in the 40s on Saturday and 50s on Sunday. The coming week will be quite mild with highs in the 50s to around 60. The mild air will come with a system that will bring rain on Monday and Tuesday.

    ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - A passing cold front will sweep in colder air today with falling temperatures. The official day's highs will likely be in the pre-dawn hours. These Meteograms show the temperature slide through the day. Late afternoon temperatures will likely be 5-10 degrees colder than morning temperatures. Friday will be cold with lows in the teens and highs in the 20s and 30s. Cold weather lasts through Saturday before a major warm-up next week.

    ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - Today will be increasingly cloudy with afternoon highs in the 40s. Wind will be increasing as well with afternoon gusts in the 20s today and in the 30s Thursday. The system bringing the wind will help to generate snow showers in the mountains and a brief mix of sprinkles/flurries and rain and snow showers along the Blue Ridge. Temperatures tonight will be in the 30s with tomorrow's highs mostly in the 30s, except for the Piedmont.

    ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR) - A system of fronts will pass through the region bringing relatively warm air for the season and scattered showers. Scattered rain showers are possible this afternoon and evening through tomorrow. Precipitation for the rest of the week will be light with chances of upslope snow showers in the western mountains. Today and tomorrow, afternoon temperatures will be 10-12 degrees above normal. The temperature outlook shows a big drop coming Wednesday night.
