The 2025 Eastern Oregon Regional Veterans Stand Down & Resource Event is June 14, 9 a.m. to noon in the Rivers Event Center at Wildhorse Resort & Casino, off Interstate 84 at exit 216, Mission. The first 100 veterans through the doors will receive a free gift. In addition, lunch will be provided.

The cost is $5 for ages 11 and older; and free for ages 10 and under. To ensure an accurate meal count for in-person and takeout meals (pickup at 11:30 a.m.), call 541-567-3582 by 11 a.m. Also, Meals on Wheels is available in Hermiston.

Published 5:30 am Saturday, May 24, 2025 WALLA WALLA — A flamboyant cabaret act featuring drag, burlesque, acrobatics and comedy returns to Walla Walla during Pride Month. Caravan of GLAM, a LGBTQ performance group, will take the stage on June 6, 7 p.m. at the Power House Theatre, 111 N. Sixth Ave., Walla Walla. Tickets are $30-$40 for adults and $20 for students. And adults 21 and older are invited to the afterparty.

Published 5:30 am Saturday, May 24, 2025 PENDLETON — People are encouraged to begin planning to participate in Pride Month activities in Pendleton. According to the Library of Congress, Pride Month is celebrated each year in June. The first Pride marches were held in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago on June 28, 1970, marking the first anniversary of a series of events between police and LGBTQ protesters at The Stonewall Inn, New York. Pendleton’s inaugural Pride Month event was held in 2000.
