Shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, LSP were notified about a single-vehicle crash involving an off-duty Trooper. David Hamm, 33, was identified as the driver. Troopers suspected Hamm was under the influence and placed him under arrest. After submitting to a breath test, it was determined that Hamm was over the legal limit.

According to the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Dedrick Manchester was traveling along Rougon Road when his vehicle went off the roadway, hitting a gas main and crashing into the bedroom of a 9-year-old girl. Manchester was killed in the crash.

Louisiana State Police responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 90 near Big Four Corners Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The crash took the life of John Tardy, 59, of Franklin. Upon investigation, Troopers determined that Tardy was driving eastbound on US 90 before crossing over the median and striking another vehicle that was traveling westbound.

UPDATE: Pearson has been located. -----BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance in finding a missing man with dementia. 55-year-old Paul Pearson is a black male of medium build who is around 6 foot 6 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped polo-style shirt, blue jeans, and white New Balance tennis shoes. His last known location was 7410 Bluebonnet Blvd at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, October 1.

inNewsBy: BATON ROGUE - The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in locating a missing man with Alzheimer's. 74-year-old Joseph Kinchen went missing after leaving a business in the 9300 block of Cortana Place on Saturday, Sept. 30, shortly after 10 p.m. He was last seen walking from the business toward Tom Drive. Kinchen was wearing an orange shirt and black pants with white stripes on the legs.
