The Sioux Falls Canaries used a nine-run fourth inning to power past Winnipeg 15-2 on Wednesday. The Birds opened the scoring with a run in the first inning, cashing in on a fielding error, before Winnipeg answered with a two-run double in the home half.

They swept the first two 3-game series before arriving in Winnipeg Tuesday night to try and get to 5 games over the .500 mark. The Sioux Falls Canaries saw their six-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night, falling to the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-3 at Blue Cross Park.

The Cougars struck first with a run in the opening frame but Peter Zimmermann’s two-run homer in the top of the second gave Sioux Falls the lead for good.

GENEVA, IL (Dakota News Now) - The Sioux Falls Canaries rallied to top Kane County 7-4 on Friday, stretching their winning streak to a season-high four games. Kane County jumped ahead in the fourth inning with a two-out, two-run double. Sioux Falls responded with three runs in the top of the sixth. Jordan Barth delivered an RBI single before Scott Combs tied the game with a sacrifice fly and Trevor Achenbach added an RBI base hit to give the Birds a 3-2 lead.

GARY, IN (Dakota News Now) -Jabari Henry launched two homeruns and Jordan Barth collected three hits as the Sioux Falls Canaries edged Gary SouthShore 6-5 on Tuesday. Henry opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the top of the first inning. The RailCats answered with a run in the second and tied the game in the third. Scott Combs gave the Canaries a 4-2 lead with a two-run single in the fourth.

Tied at 6-6 after eight innings, the Cougars plated three runs in the top of the ninth. Sioux Falls answered with two runs in the bottom half but couldn’t complete the comeback. Jabari Henry smacked two homeruns and drove in three while Jordan Barth finished 2-3 with a homerun and triple.

The Cougars opened the scoring with a two-out RBI double in the first inning but Zimmermann drilled a two-run shot in the second and Sioux Falls wouldn’t trail after that. Kane County tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the fifth before the Birds took the lead for good in the bottom half.

The Explorers scored a run in the second inning, one in the third and added another in the fifth before Calvin Estrada singled to bring home Mike Hart in the bottom half. Sioux City added another run in the eighth inning to increase their lead to 4-1. Josh Rehwaldt ripped an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth but the Canaries could get no closer.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Canaries broke open a tie game with a five-run seventh inning Tuesday, topping Sioux City 6-3 to put an end to a four-game losing skid. Hunter Clanin opened the scoring with a solo homerun in the third frame before the Explorers cashed in on a leadoff walk in the fifth to tie the game. Clanin led off the seventh inning with a single and Mike Hart and Jabari Henry drew back-to-back walks to load the bases.
