ROCHESTER — CJ Robinson and his fourth-seeded University Prep Griffins are one win away from returning to the championship game. Robinson rushed for 217 yards, and took one of his three touchdowns 79 yards to the house, during a 20-10 win over No. 5 Hilton in the Section V Class AA quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at the Rochester Community Sports Complex.

A pair of Section V tournament quarterfinals and games between independent teams on Saturday completed this weekend's action in Section V Football. Here are the top performances:Zyaire Banks-Brown, Finney/Northstar: Scored a touchdown, as he carried 21 times for 130 yards, returned a kickoff 40 yards and was in on 10 tackles, three solo, during a 34-6 loss to Edison merged. He has 1,090 rushing yards this season after this matchup of independent teams.

Ready or not, here come the Section V high school football playoffs. Every area team in the Class AA, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and 8-man tournaments must win in order to continue their drives toward championships. Higher seeds play the semifinal games next week on home fields. Then come the championship games Nov. 15-16 at SUNY Brockport, Rush-Henrietta and Pittsford Sutherland.
