GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Drivers in the Upstate should expect lane closures and reduced speeds Tuesday as construction starts on a bridge in downtown Greenville. The South Carolina Department of Transportation said the Church Street Bridge, initially built in 1959, is due for some upgrades. The bridge spans nearly half a mile, connecting many commuters in Greenville to Interstate 385.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA)-State and local leaders have been reacting to comments made by a member of the Trump Administration criticizing the BMW manufacturing plant in Spartanburg. BMW said that its Spartanburg plant, off Interstate 85, is an 8 million-square-foot facility amid its seventh major expansion. Officials said that teamwork at their Spartanburg plant has successfully generated nearly $27 billion each year, employing nearly 43,000 people across South Carolina.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Table Rock and Caesars Head State Park are once again open to the public, weeks after wildfires scorched thousands of acres of land. Evidence of the fires still remain at the parks. “I was looking at the mountains over there, they look a little burnt,” Simpsonville resident, Paul Iannitti said. “Gosh, that is really a shame.”The burnt earth hasn’t stopped visitors from coming back.
