MONTROSE, Mich. (WJRT) - The Montrose City Council voted to terminate city manager Barbara Valentine's contract during a special meeting. Valentine was hired as city manager in January, but her tenure ended abruptly. The council voted five to two to end her contract without cause. The city offices were empty on Wednesday afternoon despite signs indicating staff should be present. A city official mentioned they are investigating the absence of personnel.
