Trophy-laden Rising Sun added more silverware to their collection with a hard-fought Kent Sunday Premier Cup final victory against Artois United on Sunday. Already having secured the Herne Bay & Whitstable Sunday League Premier Division title again and The Fletcher Memorial Cup - with a semi-final and potential final to come in their Challenge Cup defence - Kyle Atkinson got the only goal as it ended 1-0 to Risers. Coach Clive Stace reflected: “It was a very hard game. “Credit to Artois.

Dover boss Jake Leberl thinks it’s fitting they will visit Kent rivals Dartford for the Isthmian Premier play-off final. Both clubs sit one win away from an immediate National League South return, having responded well to relegation last term, and will meet in the promotion showdown at Princes Park on Monday. Like the Darts and their manager Ady Pennock, Leberl hasn’t been afraid to stick by a largely youthful squad and has been rewarded for that faith.

Matthews, who started out at Arsenal and also counts Worthing, Hemel Hempstead and Braintree among his former clubs, rates Dover boss Jake Leberl as one of the best he’s worked under.

A new boss has been named by Herne Bay chairman Matt Barman. Vastly-experienced defender Liam Friend will replace James Collins at the Bay helm ahead of the 2025/26 season. A club legend at Folkestone where he made almost 550 appearances under Neil Cugley, the role will be a first managerial position for the 37-year-old at Isthmian South East side Herne Bay. Captain Friend had come to close to taking a spot in the hot-seat as Steve Lovell left in January.
