    ALBANY, Ore. — A 27-year-old woman who impersonated a high schooler was sentenced this morning at the Linn County Courthouse. In December, prosecutors said Makayla Craig tried to enroll as a 15-year-old girl at South Albany High School, claiming her name was Madison. Craig claimed she was homeless and intended to enroll herself for classes. The next day, on December 13, prosecutors said Craig went to Greater Albany Public Schools headquarters.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — Families in Northeast Portland may soon get stadium lights at Grant Bowl after pushing for the change for years. Without field lights, many Grant High School teams have been unable to play home games at Grant Bowl for most of the season. Instead, teams have traveled to Delta Park for home games. The commute can take up to half-an-hour in the afternoon, players said. For the Grant High School girls' soccer team, players leave class early to arrive to home games at Delta Park.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — As many gather in Hawaii this Saturday, Dec. 7 to mark 83 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor, 104-year-old Navy veteran Ira Schab will be among them, having made the trip from Oregon. "This should be a tribute," he said. "Remember the people that were there and gave their lives for us." Schab, known to many as "Ike" or "Pop," served in the Navy for eight years and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the attack.

The county said staffing and renovation challenges were the reasons for the delay . The drug deflection center won't initially be open 24 hours a day. Instead, it will be more limited, opening from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. at night during the week, and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on the weekends.
