Oregon Public Broadcasting
Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) serves as the main public broadcasting network for a large portion of Oregon and southern Washington. The network includes five powerful television stations, numerous VHF and UHF translators, and more than 20 radio stations and frequencies. OPB offers a mix of local shows alongside programs from the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), NPR, Public Radio International, and the BBC World Service. The organization is headquartered in Portland, where its television studios are located.

A major earth-moving project is underway along the McKenzie Highway east of Eugene-Springfield. The work is meant to restore the McKenzie River to its more meandering character to improve wildlife habitat and water quality. Like many rivers, the McKenzie and its tributaries have been engineered by humans to follow a desired path.
