A new UMBC Poll released on Tuesday reveals how Baltimore City and County residents feel about quality of life issues, government services as well as local services and amenities. The poll surveyed over 1,200 residents of Baltimore City and County from Tuesday April 1st to Sunday April 6th. The poll shows that residents are deeply concerns about housing, taxes, crime and schools. Nearly 73% of City residents and 67% of County residents are worried about taxes.

Police are investigating three shootings that occurred in Baltimore overnight in 30 minutes, with two teens and an adult injured. On Sunday at approximately 9:50PM, officers were on patrol when they heard gunshot in the 400 block of Light Street. Officers responded to the area and found a large crowd gathered. Officials say a 16-year-old boy was located with a gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Marylanders' favorite things about the state includes seafood, outdoor recreation and friendly neighbors, as revealed in a new UMBC poll. The poll asked Maryland residents to share their favorite things about the state. Student research assistants at the UMBC Institute of Politics categorized the open-ended responses. Nearly a quarter of Marylanders said the state's natural beauty, climate and weather, and related opportunities for outdoor recreation were their favorite things.

A Howard County resident who recently traveled internationally has tested positive for the measles, according to Maryland Department of Health and Howard County health officials. Health officials are attempting to identify people who might have been exposed, including contacting passengers on specific flights.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation held a head-shaving fundraising event where "shavees" stood in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment. On Saturday March 8th, the St. Baldrick's Foundation shaving event at Looney's Pub in Bel Air, Maryland, helped raise money for research aimed at saving the lives of children battling cancer. Head shaving took place from 12PM to 5PM.
