Summer is arriving a week ahead of schedule. We are expecting the hottest day of the year for the metro area. We have not officially hit 90° at BWI Thurgood Marshall so far, but today we likely will. We are forecasting 93° as a high temperature. So even falling short by a few degrees places us near the mark. *Air Quality Alert will be in place for the I-95 corridor through the heat of the day. We started our Wednesday on the wet side waking up to showers for your morning commute. A cold front pushing slowly across the state moved off to the south. It keeps any shower activity below the Baltimore metro area while allowing dryer air to settle across central Maryland. Expect highs today in the upper 70s and low 80s. Overnight lows stay in the mid 50s. The cold front eventual lifts northward as a warm front Thursday... bringing back an unsettled weather pattern.

Much-needed April showers are bringing rain to the Baltimore region this week. On Monday, expect widespread rain, mist and drizzle throughout the day, with a northeast wind adding to the chilly feel. While there may be a break in the rain midday, a second batch of showers will move in by the afternoon commute. Later into the evening, showers are expected to stop as drier and colder air moves into the Baltimore region. Temperatures are expected to stay below normal today and tonight.

Spring temps get an early start as Winter winds down. Our Tuesday morning started chilly, breezy and clear, but gradual warming makes for a delightful afternoon. High pressure is settling over the Mid-Atlantic, bringing with it sunshine and diminishing winds. As the high slides east, it allows for southeast winds and warming. The last few days of the season will be our warmest of the week. Wednesday will be a beautiful day, featuring mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower 70s.
