Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was found shot in Syracuse Thursday night, police said. When police arrived at the 300 block of Palmer Avenue, they found a man in his 30s shot in the leg, according to Kieran Coffey, a spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department. The man was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is in stable condition, he said. Police are still looking for the person who shot the man, Coffey said.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Firefighters put out a fire on the back porch of a Syracuse home in 12 minutes Thursday afternoon. When firefighters arrived at the two-story home at 308 John St., they saw large clouds of smoke coming from its rear, according to Capt. Phillip Vogt, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Fire Department. It was determined the fire was on the rear porch of the boarded-up vacant home, he said.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Two boys, ages 11 and 12, suffered stab wounds in a fight with each other Thursday that sent one of them to the hospital, police said. A 12-year-old boy was found with stab wounds to the abdomen and back after police arrived at the 600 block of Park Street at about 5:20 p.m., said Kieran Coffey, a spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department. The boy was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is in stable condition, according to Coffey.

Salina, N.Y. — A Syracuse man who was reported missing a week ago was found dead Thursday in Salina, deputies said. Albert Senke Jr., 57, was found near 606 Factory Avenue in Salina at about 11:47 a.m., according to Deputy Douglas Roser, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. A person out on a walk near the railroad tracks found him, Roser said. Senke was last seen at Assumption Cemetery at 2401 Court Street on April 10, Roser said.

Utica, N.Y. — A Utica man who was a registered sex offender placed several cameras throughout his home including one in a bedroom to watch an underage girl, deputies said. Keenan J. Gant, 40, was arrested Tuesday after deputies investigated a tip to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center that an underage girl had found a camera in her bedroom, according to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Mark Chrysler.
