Aaron M. Alshaman, 29, was accused of setting fire to 1117 Kellogg Ave. on April 9 while four people were inside: the deputy’s baby, the baby’s mother and the baby’s grandparents, Utica Police Department said in a news release Thursday. Everyone inside were able to flee the home, police said.

Pulaski, N.Y. — A boil water order has been issued to go into effect tonight in Pulaski and is expected to last until Saturday, Oswego County officials said. The village will lose water pressure Wednesday night as the Department of Public Works replaces a valve at the intersection of North Jefferson and Park streets, Kelly Jordal, a county spokesperson said in a news release Wednesday. After water pressure is restored, the boil water order will be in effect, Jordal said.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse police are still looking for a 27-year-old man involved in a fatal hit-in-run two weeks ago. The man, Nigel Chabot-Douglas, 27, is accused of fleeing the scene after his vehicle hit a man at 10:21 p.m. on March 23 in the 1200 block of Butternut Street. He was driving a white 2025 Nissan Altima, which was a rental vehicle, according to Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police. The vehicle has been recovered.

Syracuse, N.Y. —Heavy rains Tuesday evening caused flooded roads and water in basements in parts of Cayuga and Onondaga counties. There are reports of flooding in Skaneateles and Mottville in Onondaga County and in Niles in Cayuga County, according to the National Weather Service. Flooding was reported at 5:30 p.m. in Niles, according to the weather service. A number of roads in the town were closed due to flooding.
