Ojai Unified trustees unanimously approved the sale of the remaining $13 million in Measure K bonds to finance the new Nordhoff aquatic center and stadium, among other projects, at their April 16 meeting. Voters approved a total of $45 million through Measure K in 2020.

Ojai Unified trustees mourned the passing of Ojai Unified School District “titan” Marilyn Smith from a stroke on March 25, announced at their April 16 board meeting. Smith, 78, was working as OUSD’s director of Special Projects and served on the leadership team, just two of her roles in education, including more than 50 years as an elementary and high school teacher, principal and administrator.
