Two women were injured, one critically, when they were struck by a car Tuesday evening while walking in Isla Vista, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched at about 6:45 p.m. to the collision on Camino Pescadero at Sabado Tarde Road, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said. One woman suffered major injuries, while the other sustained minor injuries, Safechuck said.

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Highway 246 and Alamo Pintado Road, which was reported at 12:42 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said. Responding firefighters had to extricate the adult female driver in one vehicle, Capt. Scott Safechuck said. She had major injuries.
