Loading your audio articleHappy to pay taxes for services; not happy to let others off the hookThis year, my wife and I are paying a huge tax bill. I appreciate the services our government provides for not just ourselves but for everyone else. We appreciate clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. We appreciate uncontaminated food to eat. We appreciate the house that provides us shelter from the elements. And we understand it takes a lot of work from agencies and services we take for granted.

Soccer stadium will spotlight South Broadway’s charmsRe: “NWSL stadium: Denver to kick in up to $70M,” April 10 news storySouth Broadway has plenty going for it. Right or wrong? Bennet plans campaign for governor while serving in U.S. SenateRe: “Bennet should resign now in his run for governor,” April 16 editorialI write in response to The Denver Post’s ridiculous editorial this week calling on Sen. Jared Polis to resign from the House of Representatives when he ran for governor at the beginning of President Donald Trump’s first term.

The law will be overturned, like similar laws in other states were, at a great loss of the state’s treasure. In the United States, no one needs to prove they are qualified to express their rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Water is a finite resource; growth is an unending drainRe: “Lower Arkansas Valley: Clash over water,” April 6 news storyWhile visiting a local business the other day in Rocky Ford, I noticed the headline in the local paper about another attempted water grab in the Lower Arkansas Valley by Colorado Springs. I am a fifth-generation farmer, and we have agricultural interests in Kansas and Colorado, including in the valley.
