Land near Euston stationGOVERNMENT promises of “certainty” over whether HS2 will ever be completed in Camden have not materialised, a watchdog warned this week. Detailed designs for a proposed HS2 station in Euston remain “a good way off” and there are “no firm plans” to complete tunnelling works into Camden, HS2 Independent Construction Commissioner Sir Mark Worthington OBE said in a report.

The payouts are part of a package agreed between Camden Council and its contractors, McLaren, following the bungle at Bray and Dorney on the Chalcots estate.Workers are being sent back into homes after more than 4,000 panes of glass were mistakenly fitted back to front.

Mary Emma HollyAN oil spill caused by a massive inferno in an electricity substation has shut down a two-mile stretch of the Regent’s Canal. Canal chiefs issued a “do not move” order to boaters between Paddington and Camden Lock as they worked with the National Grid to stop the spread of the slick. The oil has been oozing out of a tunnel closed since the “major incident” in Aberdeen Place, Lisson Grove, on Tuesday morning.
