Lyme Disease, named after Lyme, Connecticut where it was first diagnosed in the early 1970s, has been increasing in recent years, along with reported cases of the more serious Rocky Mountain Fever. Both are tick-borne.

Watertown sweeps York Institute –Watertown improved to 11-7 following Monday’s home doubleheader sweep of District 5-2A opponent York Institute. The Lady Tigers won both games by identical scores of 16-0. Avery Taylor threw a three-inning no-hitter in Monday’s nightcap, striking out five and walking one. WHS is scheduled to play host to Gordonsville Thursday, April 17 at 5 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 home game versus Cannon County.

After flooding washed out Fairgrounds Speedway’s scheduled April 5 season opener, the facility has dried out and ready to launch its 121st season of racing this weekend. The U.S. Legends Spring Nationals will compete Friday, April 18, followed by the local divisions on Saturday, starting at 5 p.m.Much of the attention will be focused on the premier Pro Late Model series to see who will fill the void left by two former champions from Lebanon who have moved on.
