    The Stanley School Parent’s Association will hold a fundraising dinner at the Mountain Village Resort on Saturday to help complete an expansion and remodel of the school. The event, in the resort’s Velvet Falls Dance Hall, will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a five-course dinner at 7 p.m. The menu will include braised bison short ribs and herb-crusted wild salmon. A silent auction will follow, as well as live music by Muzzie Braun, Dave Muscavage and Kenny Saunders.

    The Bellevue City Council voted unanimously on April 28 to require only administrative review, rather than City Council approval, for encroachment permits for driveways and private streets in city rights of way. Community Development Director Brian Parker, who wrote the ordinance amendment, said the city had been operating “in error” by using administrative review for encroachment permits, though city code called for City Council review.

    The 13th annual Idaho Gives campaign is taking place online this week. The four-day fundraising event for hundreds of nonprofits across the state includes numerous charitable organizations in the Wood River Valley. The event will run through Thursday, May 1. Boise State Public Radio reported that more than 13,600 Idahoans donated a combined $4.3 million last year during the event. Idaho Gives is a program of the Idaho Nonprofit Center and is supported by the Idaho Central Credit Union.

    The Bellevue City Council voted Monday to approve a list of 13 members for a newly-formed steering committee to help undertake a revision of the city’s comprehensive plan. Committee members were selected by Community Development Director Brian Parker. Membership is expected to grow in coming weeks as more Bellevue residents are recruited to join the committee.
