The department told FOX40 News the grant has helped replace the extrication tools in three of its nine fire trucks that had the older equipment. Each set costs about $53,000.

The 65-foot Ferris wheel which opened in 2020 is closing as part of a $25 million reinvestment program approved by the Sacramento City Council last year. The money will fund infrastructure repairs at the Old West-era district, including to the boardwalk and docks.
