Heavy rains drenched much of the Miami area Monday, and depending on where you live, you might have felt like a boater than a motorist. If you’re new to South Florida, you also just got a taste of what “rainy season” will look like. “Right on schedule to wrap up the dry season,” said Brian McNoldy, a meteorologist at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School. In Key Biscayne, about 1.5 inches fell in a three-hour period, said Roland Saiminy, the island’s chief resilience officer.
