    TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Dialogue Coffee House and local law enforcement decided to bring Dialogue’s monthly Abilities Day to Topeka’s Law Enforcement Center (LEC) on Monday, June 2. Topeka Police officers and deputies with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office gathered at the LEC to guide several individuals with disabilities on a tour of the facility. The day included activities both inside and outside. The group met the K9 units and got a close look at the SWAT vehicles.

    TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Public Schools wraps up the final day of the 2024-2025 school year with several ceremonies for eighth-grade students. Thursday, May 29, is the last day of school for all classes in Topeka’s largest school district, USD 501. Over the past couple of weeks up to the final day of school, TPS has held several high school graduation and “promotion” ceremonies to celebrate each milestone a student reaches in their education.

Topeka Public Schools held several special promotion ceremonies for their fifth-grade students moving on to middle school on Wednesday, May 28, including Whitson Elementary.
