    The Park City Fire District is reminding community members to be careful of what they throw away after a Republic Services garbage truck driver noticed smoke coming from the vehicle, forcing him to dump the burning load in the former BeeHive Home parking lot. Park City Fire Public Information Officer Mike Owens said the driver quickly pulled over and safely dumped the garbage once he noticed something was burning. Firefighters were paged out around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

    Park City School District officials are exploring a district-wide cell phone policy that could restrict student device usage from bell to bell following the passage of Senate Bill 178 earlier this year. Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman emphasized that a new policy is being crafted to improve student engagement, youth mental health and human connection.
