REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A Pepsi semi truck tipped over on Route 1 near the Wawa in Rehoboth Beach early Monday afternoon, shutting down a section of the southbound highway. According to the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company, the crash happened around 12:55 p.m. near 20184 Coastal Highway when the truck struck a cable line and overturned. The accident took place near the Wawa convenience store. Route 1 south was closed between Shuttle Road and the Big Fish Restaurant for about two hours.

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Sussex County has announced a network of public cooling stations to help people stay safe during a heat wave. The extreme heat warning, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect until 8 p.m. June 25. According to CoastTV meteorologists, temperatures are forecast to be in the mid to upper 90s, with heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees across most inland areas Monday afternoon and evening.

MILFORD, Del. - A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times late Thursday morning in Milford, according to the Milford Police Department. Police said they responded around 11:13 a.m. to the 200 block of Valley Drive in Kent County after receiving a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found the man with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

DELAWARE - As the weather warms up and more Delawareans head outdoors, state health and environmental officials are urging people to take precautions against ticks. The Delaware Division of Public Health and DNREC are reminding people to check themselves, their children and their pets for ticks after outdoor activities. According to the state’s 2024 Vector-Borne Disease Surveillance Report, 344 Lyme disease cases were reported last year, making it the most common tick-related illness in Delaware.

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — A young grey seal rescued from the Delaware coast in April is now back in the ocean after making a remarkable recovery from multiple serious health conditions. Eclipse, also known as Scutum, is a male grey seal weanling. He was discovered on Rehoboth Beach with a long list of medical issues.
