A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed in Rhode Island this week and the 18-year-old accused of killing her is under arrest. Central Falls police said the man is charged with manslaughter after the 14-year-old girl was shot at a home Thursday morning and died at the hospital overnight. Central Falls High School is making counselors available for those who need support. Officials have not yet released the names of the suspect or the victim. CONTINUE READING

ALSO SAYING SHE IS NOW SOBER. A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS SHOT AND KILLED IN RHODE ISLAND, AND THE MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING HER IS NOW UNDER ARREST. CENTRAL FALLS POLICE SAY AN 18 YEAR OLD IS NOW CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER. THE GIRL WAS SHOT AT A HOME ON THURSDAY MORNING AND DIED AT THE HOSPITAL OVERNIGHT.

Crews in Yosemite National Park say they have just found two missing hikers from Santa Cruz. Officials in the park said that 63-year-old Miguel Delgado and 40-year-old Ana Rodarte left their campground for a hike on Saturday morning and were not seen since. The two hikers were staying at the Bridalveil Creek Campground, which is south of Glacier Point.A spokesperson for Yosemite National Park said that the two hikers were found alive. There are no words on injuries.

The first phase of a 27-mile walkway and bike path broke ground in Del Rey Oaks on Wednesday. The Canyon Del Rey segment runs 1.5 miles from Laguna Grande Park to Del Rey Woods Elementary School. The segment requires constructing an undercrossing at Highway 218. Phase one is projected to cost $17.9 million with a targeted completion date of 2026. Two California State University, Monterey Bay professors, Fred Watson and Scott Waltz, first came up with the trail over a decade ago.

The acting city manager for the city of Seaside met with the man who went viral for his boat fence.Police Chief Nick Borges, who is currently the acting city manager, met with Seaside resident Etienne Constable on Thursday.During the meeting, Borges high-fived Constable and congratulated him on his fence.Constable was originally ordered by the city to hide his boat behind a fence.
