New Year’s resolutions have been around in some form since 2000 B.C., and the tradition continues to thrive today. While resolutions often start with enthusiasm, the statistics reveal how difficult it is to follow through. According to Insideout Mastery:38.5% of US adults set New Year’s resolutions every year. 59% of young adults (18–34) are the largest demographic to set these goals. 48% want to exercise more, making it the most popular resolution.

According to Wikipedia, “Liminality (from Latin līmen, ‘a threshold’) is the quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a rite of passage when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet transitioned to the status they will hold when the rite is complete.
