SOLEM TOWNSHIP — A Starbuck woman died in a two-car crash in Douglas County. According to information provided by the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:52 a.m. Tuesday, May 6. A Ford Escape driven by Bethany Julie Scott, 35, of Kensington, and a Chevrolet Geo Prizm driven by a Lisa Marie Kelvie, 56, of Starbuck, collided on Highway 55 near mile marker 54, near Kensington.

ALEXANDRIA โ A man and a woman were charged with multiple felonies after they were found to be in possession of more than 3 pounds of methamphetamine last month. Cassandra Lee Davison, 41, of Fargo, was charged with two first-degree drug crimes. George Allen Schultz, 58, of Moorhead, was charged with two felony controlled substance crimes in the first degree, as well as two lesser charges. The charges were filed in Douglas County District Court on April 22.

ALEXANDRIA â Alexandria author Michael Tisserand's latest project started during the quarantine. To pass the time, he watched a lot of silent films, culminating in the viewing of Charlie Chaplin's first talkie, 1940's "The Great Dictator." Tisserand gave a presentation about his upcoming book on April 14 as part of Alexandria College's Senior College lecture series. Tisserand said that at the time he viewed "The Great Dictator," it seemed to have some relevance to today's world.
