CARLOS โ€” Tempers flared at a meeting regarding the estimated cost of a fire hall to be constructed in Carlos. The meeting was held Thursday, April 10, with many people in attendance. The conflict at issue was that a vote was taken at Carlos Township's annual meeting last month, which approved the construction of a new fire hall at the cost of $7,670,000. Before the night was over, a special meeting was scheduled for June 3 to discuss the issue further.

Douglas Edward Anderson Sr., age 78, of Alexandria, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2025. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from noon to 5:00 PM at the Alexandria VFW Post #936, located at 1102 3rd Avenue East, Alexandria, Minnesota. His burial will take place at a later date following his return from the Anatomy Bequest Program. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Willard Allen Feda, known to many as Bill, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Kodiak, Alaska, at the age of 69. Bill was born on October 3, 1955, in Alexandria, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm in Belle River, Minnesota. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria and continued his education at Alexandria Technical College, where he studied hydraulics and welding.
