According to information provided by the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:52 a.m. Tuesday, May 6. Pair charged with multiple felonies for having 3 pounds of meth

ALEXANDRIA โ A man and a woman were charged with multiple felonies after they were found to be in possession of more than 3 pounds of methamphetamine last month. Cassandra Lee Davison, 41, of Fargo, was charged with two first-degree drug crimes. George Allen Schultz, 58, of Moorhead, was charged with two felony controlled substance crimes in the first degree, as well as two lesser charges. The charges were filed in Douglas County District Court on April 22.

ALEXANDRIA â Alexandria author Michael Tisserand's latest project started during the quarantine. To pass the time, he watched a lot of silent films, culminating in the viewing of Charlie Chaplin's first talkie, 1940's "The Great Dictator." Tisserand gave a presentation about his upcoming book on April 14 as part of Alexandria College's Senior College lecture series. Tisserand said that at the time he viewed "The Great Dictator," it seemed to have some relevance to today's world.
Kensington Runestone to be featured in documentary series

ALEXANDRIA — The Kensington Runestone will be among the subjects explored in a documentary series that aims to see how far Norse explorers made it into the North American Continent. The makers of the series, "West Viking," visited Alexandria and the surrounding area last month, shooting footage and examining artifacts. "We're on the hunt for places that Norse explorers may have gone," said Johann Sigurdson, who is involved with the series and is co-team lead for the Fara Heim Foundation.

ALEXANDRIA โ An Alexandria man has been charged with three felonies after he allegedly went into a woman's apartment and attempted to assault her. Calvin Maurice Larkins, Jr., 32, has been charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, criminal sexual conduct in the second degree and burglary in the first degree. The charges were handed down in Douglas County District Court.

ALEXANDRIA — Do you know Terry Rohloff? His family describes him as a "great, great dad" who could use some support. Last July, the Alexandria area resident and business owner was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Now his family has organized an event to help bring awareness to Parkinson's, as well as raise money for education and research. Moving Day in Alexandria will take place May 3 at Lake Brophy County Park.

ALEXANDRIA โ The Church for the Harvest held its community Easter egg hunt this weekend. The hunt began at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, but the day's events began at 10:30 a.m. In addition to the Easter egg hunt, there was food, prizes, face painting, a petting zoo, games and crafts.

ALEXANDRIA โ An Alexandria man has been arrested for allegedly discharging a firearm at a moving vehicle. Gregg Dickey is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail, awaiting formal charges and a scheduled court appearance. According to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department, the police responded to a report of an individual discharging a firearm at a moving vehicle in the area of Third Avenue East on the evening of April 19.
