Going up against Liga MX powerhouses is never easy. Quite frankly, with what was on the line, it shouldn’t be easy either. However, for the club that has positioned itself as one of the best in the MLS since their arrival, a club that has done all it can to build a winning culture as it competes in every competition they could, it was another day at the office. Taking on the best teams from Liga MX isn’t something new to LAFC, in fact, at this point in the club’s history, it’s become very common.

Los Angeles Football Club is already a global brand. Truly. The reach of the back & gold extends far past their home in the heart of Los Angeles, and that is something the club has worked on from the very beginning. Any time Racing Louisville and Angel City meet up on the pitch, we get to witness the NWSL at its purest form of chaos. It was the longest road trip of the season for LAFC, as the team from the heart of Los Angeles, made their way clear across and out of the country, to take on Canadian side, CF Montreal. While the team did just enough to ensure their unbeaten run didn’t come to an end, extending it now to eight matches, the woes on the road continue for Los Angeles, as they let another prime opportunity for the win slip from their fingers.

The last few weeks for Angel City FC have been rough. Last week’s trip to the Bay ended in a 0-2 defeat, but it was a match that the team was clearly not ready for mentally. Now, back at home, and a week that on the surface felt a lot more like business as usual, the team look to push forward knowing their teammate Savy King is now on the mend and recovering, as they shift full focus on the rest of the season ahead. That road starts tonight with the team hosting Racing Louisville.
