    Freshman Thomas Sorber, star forward for Georgetown men’s basketball, announced on Instagram that he is testing out the NBA Draft process, while maintaining college eligibility. Sorber wrote that he wants “to receive feedback from NBA teams” while considering whether to play professionally or return to Georgetown next year. Despite a season-ending injury, Sorber averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season, winning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week seven times.

    Georgetown women’s basketball (11-18, 4-14 BIG EAST) dropped another close contest against the Providence Friars (13-18, 5-13 BIG EAST) 66-62 on Mar. 1. After an early 14-0 run put the Friars up, the Hoyas led by graduate guard Kelsey Ransom, just didn’t have enough to close the gap and finish the job on Senior Night for the Hoyas. No way to sugarcoat it, the Hoyas got off a rough start in this one.

    Georgetown women’s basketball (11-11, 4-7 BIG EAST) won in impressive fashion versus the Xavier Musketeers (6-17, 1-11 BIG EAST) 63-36 on Feb. 5. Allowing their fewest points against a Division I opponent all-season, the Hoyas dominated the woeful Musketeers on the road from start to finish. In a game that was never really close, the Hoyas came out of the gates firing, with a triple by freshman guard Khadee Hession to open the scoring.
