ORLANDO, Fla. — A program that helps minority and women business owners has been suspended in the city of Orlando, as well as the Greater Orlando Airport Authority. “We don’t have a choice. We do have to follow the law,” said program director Janerro Coulter. Coulter talked about why the city’s Minority Woman and Business Enterprise program was suspended. He said it’s what the city had to do to accept a $37 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for airport improvements.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Officials say a man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attacking a police officer in downtown Orlando. Officers said Daniel Robinson, 22, refused to pay his bill at the Corner Pizza Bar, pushed the owner then left. He allegedly started choking a responding officer across the street after employees called 911.

A population growth increase in Lake County is making it difficult for many when it comes to development and infrastructure. That’s why county commissioners are hosting four public meetings to get feedback about creating a charter government so counties and cities can work together in planning such development and infrastructure. The first of four meetings was held Monday. Among the development and traffic congestion in Lake County, there are 14 different cities with different leaders.

There’s always a chance you might see wildlife while in the wilderness, but some hikers in Florida got quite the show when they stumbled upon a bear relaxing on their trail. A black bear lying across a path typically used by hikers and joggers literally stopped people in their tracks. “It makes me nervous. It’s exciting to see the bear, but I think I would probably turn around and go the other direction,” hiker Crystal Spears said.
