Two people were rushed to the hospital after a two-alarm fire broke out at a home in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood Sunday morning, fire officials said. Fire crews responded to the blaze on 68th Avenue near Ogontz Avenue, which broke out just before 2 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters placed the blaze under control a little after 3 a.m. Officials said no firefighters were injured while responding to the house fire. The conditions of the two people taken to the hospital are unknown.

Pet Project: How fostering can help shelter dogs get adopted NEWARK, Del. (CBS) -- The Brandywine Valley SPCA, along with several partnering rescues, is hosting the Summer Mega Adoption Event this weekend at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Delaware. More than 1,000 pets will be looking for their forever homes throughout this two-day event. Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will all be available for adoption for just $35.

(CBS) — West Chester University's long-time embedded therapy dog, Muddy Puddles, was the guest of honor at an all-campus "paw-ty" with a pack of 15 of his visiting therapy dog buddies. In fact, the whole campus came out to show their appreciation for Muddy on a virtual chat board and signed cards at the event.

NORTH WALES, Pa. (CBS) -- Two people were killed in a car crash on U.S. Route 202 and Horsham Road in Montgomery County Monday afternoon, officials said. Montgomery County officials said the crash was between a car carrier truck and another vehicle that happened at around 1:40 p.m. Another person involved in the crash was taken to a nearby hospital, officials said. That person's condition is unknown at this time.
