(WBRE/WYOU) — A big, complex storm system is expected to impact our weather and could do so through Monday. Clouds are expected to hang around Sunday night with a few showers developing too. It is projected to be mild and in the mid-50s. On Monday, a stronger cold front could move across the region with more showers and the chance of thunderstorms. The main threat will be heavier rain. If the storms can become strong, gusty winds to 60 miles per hour are likely. Highs could also get near 70°.

(WBRE/WYOU) — Snow showers are anticipated to move through the area overnight with patches of freezing rain possible. The low on Sunday is expected to drop into the upper 20s. Mild air could be here on Monday with highs expected to be in the mid-40s and a very small chance of an isolated shower. Temperatures could fall, again, on Tuesday with highs anticipated to be in the mid-30s and some sunshine. It could be a bit breezy as well.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say all of Northeastern Pennsylvania is under a winter advisory from Sunday into Monday morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) announced a Winter Advisory will be in place for all of North Eastern Pennsylvania from 4:00 p.m. Sunday until 10:00 a.m. Monday. The advisory is in place in the following counties.

TOBYHANNA, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Tobyhanna Army Depot honored those in the military who are prisoners of war or are missing in action Thursday. Traditionally celebrated on the third Friday of September, the army depot held their event a week early. 28/22 New’s very own Valerie Smock, who served in the Army National Guard and Air Force Reserve, was the featured speaker at the event held at the POW/MIA Memorial on the base.
