SCRANTON, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 7-year-old pit bull/mix who has only been living in rescue for about two months, but workers don't want to see her get too comfortable there. "We love her here, but I would be so much happier to see her in a house with a family. She'll definitely make someone's family complete," said Holly Smith, Friends with Paws Pet Rescue. This week, we meet Aja. Aja's owner had a change in circumstances at home and could no longer care for her.

In West Virginia, we believe in showing up for one another — whether it’s helping a neighbor change a tire, holding a food drive or pitching in to help clean and rebuild after a flood. It’s who we are. But right now in Congress, some of our elected officials are turning their backs on those very values.

SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 3-year-old pit bull/mix with severe kennel stress, but we get to introduce you to a completely different boy. "He's a really, really good dog. He just needs a chance. Someone willing to put the time and effort into him. If you can do that, you got the perfect dog, really," said Bryan Boyko, Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

PLAINS, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a cattle dog/mix who is coming up on one year in the shelter, and rescue workers have no idea why. "He was scared of people; that's why we called him Peek-a-boo because he would peek out of the adoption office, but once he comes out of his shell, I mean, he's out of his shell now. This is who he is, he's a wonderful dog," said Carol Amos, SPCA of Luzerne County.

MONTROSE, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet an older cat who had a loving home his entire life, but his owners recently moved away and couldn't bring him with them, so now he needs a new lap to lay on. "He will just lay right there, he won't move until you move, so I think that's my favorite thing about him," said Linda Lee, True Friends Animal Welfare Center.
