HONESDALE, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a senior dog who has only been in the shelter for a few weeks, but rescue workers want him to get adopted fast. "Just a nice, loving, calm home that will give him a couple of good years in his golden years," said Linda Gambone, Dessin Animal Shelter. This golden boy has entered his golden years, but you really wouldn't know it when meeting him. Bear is 10 years old but is active, healthy, and happy.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Some may say it's still a few weeks too early to plant, so Stormtracker 16 Meteorologist Ally Gallo takes a look at past growing seasons and dates of the final frosts of spring. The Farmer's Almanac estimates the growing season here in the Scranton area begins this week, the average last frost of the season being April 30. There are other factors that lead to frost besides just the temperature, like clear skies, a calm wind, and moisture both in the air and at the surface.

MONTROSE, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 6-year-old pit bull/lab mix who loves the attention he is getting inside the shelter but would be even happier in a forever home. "He came in with three of his children. He came from a difficult situation, his owners passed away, and there was nowhere for these dogs to go," said Shelter Manager Jessica Hums, True Friends Animal Welfare Center. That was about five months ago, but even before then, Sebastian didn't have the easiest life.

BLAKELY, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue we meet a 3-month-old boxer who rescue workers are just in awe of every day. "Oh his snuggles. There's nothing like a boxer snuggle. He just wants to, he struggles to get on the couch still, but he'll climb up there and sit on my lap with a bone and he'll just want to sit there and be pet and get loving," said Polo's foster mom Beth Boylan, Adopt A Boxer Rescue. Polo was rescued from a bad situation in Missouri when he was just a few weeks old.

SCRANTON, Pa. — April is Donate Life Month; it's a way to thank and spread awareness about the importance of becoming one. "Without organ donors, I wouldn't be here today, and I was blessed to have three," said Alicia Hoover. Alicia Hoover does not take that for granted. She knows many people are still waiting for their first organ donation; her brother is one of them, currently waiting for a lung transplant. Hoover is from Dauphin County, just outside of Harrisburg.
