Turner River Developments filed the plans with the Town of Hedland in December and it won approval from the Regional Development Assessment Panel on March 25. PlanningParramatta’s cultural scene is expanding further as the $244-million redevelopment of Riverside Theatres moves forward. The City of Parramatta plans to begin construction on the project by the end of the year to coincide with the completion of the Powerhouse Parramatta currently under construction by Lendlease. The theatre and museum, facing each other across the Parramatta River, were a “pivotal part” of the city’s plans to become an epicentre of culture and creativity, the council said.

But the number of cranes at work in all other centres declined, according to the RLB Crane Index for the first quarter of 2025, released this week. Rider Levett Bucknall Oceania research director Ewen McDonald said two projects in Melbourne were the biggest contributors to the city’s crane count.
