Grayson Flowers' wish comes true at Chase Center

The Golden State Warriors partnered with Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area to host Grayson Flowers from Manteca, California at Sunday’s Warriors and Mavericks’ game. On December 1st, 2020, Grayson was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of four. Following his diagnosis, Grayson spent the next two years visiting the hospital to endure different tests and treatments. Despite this adversity, he fought through this battle and ultimately entered remission on February 5th, 2023.

Chibi Ukaegbu is no stranger to the capital city. The Roseville native joined Sacramento Republic FC’s academy in 2021, and impressed. By seventeen years old, the team signed Chibi to his first professional contract. “It was always a goal of mine to be playing [professional soccer] at a young age, so when I found out that I was going to be signing it was just a surreal feeling,” said Ukaegbu The defender made an appearance in the U.S. Open Cup and the USL Championship last year.

Aiden Rollins is heading into his second playoff run with Franklin High School. The point guard leads the Wildcats in points, assists and steals this season. He even leads the entire Delta league in scoring as a junior. Before league play tipped off, Rollins reached 1,000 career points and is now looking to shatter the school’s all-time scoring record. According to Head Coach Ken Manfredi, Rollins is 52 points away. The record was set in 2008. Aiden gives all credit to his father, Allen “AJ” Rollins.

Grant Pacers win state championship, second state title in three years

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (KTXL) – For the second time in three years, the Grant Pacers are state champions. They beat Pacifica (Oxnard) on Friday night in the Division 2-AA state championship game, 35-28. “There was not much to say, we’ve been here before,” said head coach Carl Reed, whose team finished the season with a record of 12-3. “When a team’s been here before, they know. I think it’s instilled in them, they know.”For awhile on Friday night, it looked like Grant would cruise to a state title.
