TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A mural turning heads on US-36 has also been stirring up conversations in Fairview, Kansas for months now after a dispute between the city and artist left the artist unpaid. The mural that was completed last September depicts wildlife and plants native to northeastern Kansas, as well as local Fairview landmarks and farming images. But the city says the finished mural was not what they asked for.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka & Shawnee Co. Public Library hosted Dr. Walt Menninger for an author talk Wednesday night. The psychiatrist added “memoir author” to his resume last fall and has been on tour for his book titled “Like What You Do”. Dr. Menninger sat alongside co-author Todd Fertig Wednesday night hearing from and sharing with excited fans. Sarah Morgan says she recently got the chance to meet Dr. Menninger and just had to get his book too.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local non-profit has thousands more dollars to help in its mission to advocate for children who are victims of domestic violence or abuse. The wrap-up celebration for the Lifehouse Child Advocacy Center Heroes campaign took place Thursday night at Blue Jazz Coffee Roasters. All month 17 area men, including me have helped to raise money for Lifehouse.
