NAPLES, Fla. — The family of one of the pilots killed in the Naples plane crash says their loved one had a passion for flying at a very young age. Edward Daniel Murphy's family tells Fox 4 he was known as Daniel or Ed to his Florida family. The Collier County Sheriff's Office says he lived in Oakland Park. "He was dedicated to his work and has lived his life doing what made him happy everyday," a family member says.

NAPLES, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff's Office identified the two people killed in the Naples plane crash on I-75, along with the survivors. CCSO says 50-year-old Edward Daniel Murphy of Oakland Park, Florida was the pilot and Ian Hofmann, 65, of Pompano Beach, Florida, was the co-pilot. They reported a dual engine failure moments before crashing on the highway.

NAPLES, Fla. — Many surrounding neighbors and drivers on I-75 witnessed the moment a jet crashed on the highway in Naples. One driver tells Fox 4 he saw the plane before it hit the ground. "I have never seen something like that in my whole lifetime," said Joe Blanchette. Blanchette said he was driving north on I-75. He says the plane was coming from the south, telling Fox 4 the plane was on a straight glide approaching I-75. "It was coming down," he said.
